A 6-day Kilimanjaro climb on the most challenging route- the Umbwe route. Only attempt the Umbwe if you are confident in your ability to acclimatize to altitude quickly.

After breakfast, drive to Umbwe Gate(1640m), and register with the Kilimanjaro National Park. Trek through forests along the Lonzo and Umbwe Rivers. The trek is long and includes a significant gain in altitude. Reach Umbwe Camp (2930m) after 5 – 7 hours, ready for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, trek towards Barranco Camp(3960m). The road to Barranco Camp follows a narrow ridge and flattens as it nears Barranco camp-that lies in the valley below the Barranco Wall. Arrive at Barranco Camp early in the afternoon, ready for lunch; spend the rest of the day in relaxation.

After breakfast, start the day with a steep climb to the Barranco Wall, then trek through the Karanga valley towards Karanga Camp(4035m). In the afternoon, arrive at Karanga Camp ready for lunch. Spend the rest of the day in relaxation.

After breakfast, trek towards Barafu Camp(4640m) on a rocky trail -arrive at Barafu Camp around lunchtime. Enjoy your lunch, and then spend the rest of the day relaxing in preparation for that night’s trek to Uhuru Peak.
Enjoy an early dinner and then get some rest because you will wake up around midnight to commence the last ascent towards Uhuru Peak – the summit of Kilimanjaro.
Your tents sit on a narrow stony ridge constantly exposed to gales at night.

Distance: ~ 4.5 km ascent and 11 km descent
Time: 6-8 hours to the summit and then 5-8 hours descent to Mweka Camp

Wake up around midnight, enjoy a light snack, and then begin your trek from Barafu Camp to the summit of Mt.Kilimanjaro – climb for about 5-7 hours to reach Stella Point(5739m) on the crater rim. If the weather is good, enjoy a breathtaking sunrise before proceeding on a snow-covered trail to Uhuru Peak(5895m)- the highest point in Africa.
Once at the peak, savor the moment, and take as many photos as possible can before descending to Barafu Camp. Upon arrival at Barafu camp, enjoy a warm meal, and rest for some time before descending to Mweka Camp(3100m).

After breakfast, descend through the rainforests en route to Mweka Gate(1980m). Meet your driver and drive to your hotel in Arusha / Moshi for a day of relaxation.
